DOWNING,  RAYMOND F.  


Raymond F. Downing, Age 84 of Dayton, passed away Friday, September 19, 2003, at Good Samariton
Hospital.
      Mr. Downing was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years.  Grace Downing, in 1997,  and by two sisters Mildred Perkey and Virginia Rhoads.  Mr. Downing is survived by his brother Robert [Ann ] Downing of Dayton; his sister Esther Spring of Dayton; three dear friends, Bill Mockebee, Glen Hampton & Lawrence Dessecker; and by several nieces and nephews, and cousins.  
     Mr. Downing retired from Mendenhall Dry Cleaning.   Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m.,Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to Hospice of Dayton.   Baker/Hazel & Snider Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mildred M. Shepard 

     Mrs. Mildred May Shepard, 74, of 405 Ramble Road, Waverly, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, January 30, at the Pike County Hospital after a three month illness.
     A native of Ohio, Mrs. Shepard was born on May 19, 1900 in Cleveland, the daughter of William and Bessie E. (Johnston) Braman.
     Mrs. Shepard was a well known Waverly piano teacher, while she resided in Bristol Village.
     Married twice, her first husband died in 1953, and her second husband, Walter Stender died in 1965.
     Her only survivors a son Bay Edward Stender of Bay Village, Ohio; and two grand children.
     Mrs. Shepard was a member of the Lakewood (Oh) Christian Science Church.
     Graveside services were held at the convience of the family in Riverside Cemetery in Cleveland, under the direction of the Boyer Funeral Home.
