Funeral services for Reverend Kerna Conley, Sr. were held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Paul's Chapel Church, on State Route 776, Jackson.
Reverends Wilber E. Crace and Fred Bucknew officiated the service, and interment was made in Beaver Union Cemetery.
Rev. Conley was a construction plumber and a member of Local 248 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union of Ashland, Kentucky.
Rev. Conley, of  34 Conley Road, Beaver, died Friday at the Pleasant Hill Convalescent Center, following three years of illness.  He had been a resident of Jackson County for 42 years.
Born in Magoffin County, Kentucky, on November 10, 1894, he was the son of the late Willian and Nancy Ritchie Conley.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Reffitt Conley, in 1979 and a son, Cecil M. Conley, in 1982.
Rev. Conley became an ordained minister 50 years ago in Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church, Ashland, Kentucky, where he was a charter member and pastor.  He served as a pastor for several other churches in the area.
He is survived by second wife, Sarah; son, Kerna Conley, Jr. of Minford; three daughters, Carol Wells of Lucasville, Janet Bennett of Westerville, Joyce Tomblin of Beaver; two brothers, Wayne of Marion, and Charles of Genova; and a sister, Sarah L. Knipp of Urbana.
Eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survives.
