HARRIS, Virgil

HARRIS, Virgil - Pike County native, Virgil Harris, 56, of 214 S. Locust Avenue, Compton, California, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday in Compton.

Born April 8, 1929 in Pike County, he was the son of Clarence and Flossie Mae Lett Harris, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Leatrice Collins Harris; eight brothers, Norman and Clifford, both of Columbus, Elbert, of New York, Donald of Texas, Joe of California, Archie of Gallipolis, Ellsworth and Bradley, both of Beaver.

Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Friday at the Philadelphia Baptist Church, on Carr's Run Road, with the Reverend Owen Ragland officiating. Burial will be made at Carr's Run Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Cox Funeral Home in Beaver anytime after 4 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the Friday service.
