DR. ROBERT E BOWSHER

Word has been received here of the death of  Dr. Robert E. Bowsher, 59, a former Waverly resident, on March 16, in Midland, Michigan, where he had been medical education director for the Midland Hospital.  Funeral services and burial were in the Michigan city.

     Dr. Bowsher was the son of Dr. E. L. Bowsher, 1575 Park Ridge Lane, Toledo, Ohio, who served as superintendent of the Waverly schools from 1914 to 1920 and is now retired after serving 20 years as superintendent of Toledo public schools and as secretary-treasurer of the Toledo Auto Club.
     The deceased was graduated from Ashland College and Ohio State university College of Medicine.  He served with the Army Medical Corps until 1946 and was in general practice in Midland before becoming associated with the Midland Hospital.
     Dr. Bowsher was president of the Michigan Association for Medical Education, a member of the board of directors of the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians, and served on the committee on postgraduate medical education of the Michigan State Medical Society.
     Surviving besides his father are his wife, Bernice; a son, Holly, and son Todd R.  He was predeceased by his mother and two sisters, Janice and Ruth Olive.

Robert Gillenwater

 Robert Gillenwater - Funeral services for Robert L. Gillenwater, 55, of 610 1/2 Dickey Lane, Greenfield, a Pike County native, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Russell Clark officiating.  Burial followed in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.
     Mr. Gillenwater died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Miami Valley Hospital, following an extended illness.
     He was a World War Ii veteran and was a member of the VFW in Greenfield.
     A native of Beaver, he was born on Sept. 6, 1921, a son of Robert and Stella Taylor Gillenwater.
     On Aug. 23, 1950, he married the former Joyce O'Brien, who survives.
     Other survivors include four sons, Michael L., of Greenfield, Leonard L., Jerry L. and Dale Allen all at home, two daughters, Mary Ann of Washington C. H., and Heather Marie at home, two brothers, Claral and John G. Gillewnater both of Florida; four sisters Mrs. Virgil (Alice) Polley of Greenfield, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Chain of Leesburg, Mrs. Oits (Opal) White of Dayton, Mrs. Jack (Georgia) Mivens of Saginaw, Michigan; one half sister, Mrs. Gallard (Ethel) Cox of Leesburg; and a grandson.
     He was predeceased by one brother.

Mrs. Edna D. Gregory

Edna D. Gregory  - Funeral services for Mrs. Edna (DeLong) Gregory, 89, a former Pike County resident, were scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina, with burial following in the Sabina Cemetery.
     Mrs. Gregory, who resided on Route #3, Reesville, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, August 14th in Clinton Memorial Hospital, Sabina.
     A native of Pike County, she was born on June 1, 1884, the daughter of William P. and Evelyn (Dennis) DeLong.
     Her husband, Joseph Walker Gregory, preceded her in death.
     Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Mary) Bennett of Route 31, Sabina; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and one brother, William P. DeLong of Waterville, Ohio.
