 Mrs. Margaret Best

       Mrs. Margaret Gehres Best, 93 years old pioneer and well known Waverly resident, died at 3:30 A.M. Saturday, January 28 at the Panton Nursing Home in Chillicothe, where she was a patient.
     A native and lifelong resident of Pike County, she was born in Waverly on December 7, 1867, a daughter of Jacob and Mary (Boch) Gehres.
     On April 15, 1891, she was united in marriage to Frederick William Best who preceded her in death on June 15, 1908.  Two sons, Charles and Harold Best, also preceded her.
     Surviving in addition to her son, Roy Best of South Yarmouth, Mass., are two sisters, Mrs. Emma Kellenberger and Mrs. Mary Frick, both of Portsmouth, a grandson, Richard Best of St Louis, Mo., three granddaughters Mrs. Ad DeShazor of Marshssett, N. Y., Mrs. Jeanne Shaw of Gutt Breeze, Florida and Mrs. Henry Taylor of Larkspur, California; and eight great-grandchildren.
     Mrs. Best was a lifelong member of the Waverly Evangelical and Reformed Church and of the Concordia Society of that church.
     Funeral services were held at 2 P. M. Monday at the church with Rev. Nelson Kittle of Chillicothe officiating.  Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery here under the direction of the A. H. Boyer Funeral Home.
