The Ottawa County Genealogical Society has been in existence since November 11, 1969. We are a chapter of the The Ohio Genealogical Society. We celebrated our 40th Anniversary in November of 2009. Over the years the society has made great advances in recording information available for genealogists, from all over, who are doing research on ancestors from Ottawa County. Our thanks go to all the members who have spent hours transcribing records from the area. Without them our society would not be possible!

In 1987 Marshland to Heartland, our newsletter was initiated and is still being published. Members receive the newsletter on a quarterly basis

Our goal is to encourage and build interest in genealogy whenever possible. We hope you will find our web site helpful in your research.
