His last daughter, Sarah, was born the day of the Hoskinsville Rebellion. She married John Thorp in 1885 and they became my grandparents. Now give me more information about these Trimmers. And what was the exact date of the Hoskinsville Rebellion, and what was it?

JOB COOPER: Disappeared without a trace! JOB COOPER, listed on some census records as a shoemaker from Virginia, was born in 1823. On March 5, 1846, he married CATHARINE SIMONS in Morgan county, Ohio. She was born in 1821 in Virginia. In the 1850 census record for Enoch township, Monroe county, Ohio, his name was spelled JOBE COOPER. They had two children, VALENTINE COOPER, age 4, and HENRY COOPER, age 1. In the 1860 census for Enoch township, Noble (formerly Monroe) county, Ohio, JOB and CATHARINE had 6 children: VALENTINE, age 12; HENRY J, age 10; MARILLA, age 9; EMILY, age 7; SAMUEL D, age 6; and MARY E, age 3. On August 27, 1864, JOB enlisted in Company G, 176th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry as a waggoner. The record shows he was mustered out at Camp Chase. The 1870 census record for Enoch township, Noble county, shows CATHARINE COOPER with 5 of the children. JOB is not listed! The child not listed is VALENTINE, who was married to JANE ELLEN HART on March 4, 1869, and is living in a separate household in Noble county. By 1880, VALENTINE, MARILLA, and SAMUEL have moved to Jackson county, West Virginia. I can find no trace of JOB, CATHARINE, HENRY J, or EMILY. MARY E may have moved to Iowa, but I have not confirmed this. VALENTINE and JANE lived in Jackson county, and had 4 children. MARILLA married THOMAS BALIS in Jackson county, and had at least one child. SAMUEL DAVID COOPER, my great grandfather, married SARAH BUCHANNON on July 17, 1877 in Jackson county. I am seeking the following information: Who were the parents of JOB COOPER and CATHARINE SIMONS? Where was JOB after 1864? When did he die and where is he buried? Where did CATHARINE, HENRY, EMILY, and MARY go after 1870? Please respond to Connie Cooper Lasley, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org

I am researching the family of William H.S. BARRY/BERRY who died abt 1846 in Morgan County. Mary (wife), Ruth, Samuel, and Allen are listed as heirs. The 1850 Census for Noble twp, Morgan Co. lists Mary(or Merry) BERRY with children Ruth, Samuel, Allen, and John age 4. John must have been born shortly after his father died I am thinking? A Mary BERRY marries Francis PETTAY in Noble Co. and Mary and Francis PETTAY are listed in the 1860 census in Center twp., Noble co., along with John W. or M.? BERRY, age 13. I have many questions regarding this family, but 3 or 4 specific ones; 1. A William BARRY marries Mary GILKERSON 4 Dec 1834 in Morgan co. OH. Is William H.S. BARRY and Mary his wife and heir? 2. I found record of two marriages for a Ruth BARRY, 1855 to Solomon ARCHER and 1858 to James HESSON. Is either of these the daughter of William H.S. BARRY? 3. Is the Mary BARRY that married Francis PETTAY the wife of William H.S. BARRY? 4. and foremost; My g-grandfather William H.S. BERRY, stated in his Civil War Pension Application that he was born 2 June 1841 in Noble Co. OH. His marriage record in the same application state he was age 23 at time of marriage (which would make his birth abt 1847) 1870 to 1900 census have his birth varying from 1841 to 1846. Family tradition states he lied about his age to join the army in the civil war. His pension application does not include his parent's names. I had thought that my g-grandfather was William H.S. BERRY was probably the John M. or W., age 4 in the 1860 census with Francis and Mary PETTAY and later changed his name to his father's name. But I am wondering if he might have been Samuel in the 1850 census with Mary, Ruth, Allen, and John? - or none of the above? Samuel was age 11 in the 1850 census (b abt 1841). I have a civil war pension application for an Allen BARRY/BERRY which includes a statement from his brother William BERRY. Allen's included death certificate states that his father was named John W. or M?.BERRY and his mother Mary, residence Serrisville, Ohio. He was age 53 yrs, 9 months, 18 days at time of death on December 27, 1894, according to certificate (born 9 Mar 1841) Allen BARRY in the 1850 census with Mary, Samuel, and John was age 8 (b abt 1842). And so this record makes me wonder if William and Allen both collaborated for John W. or M.? to trade names with his father William H.S.? Thanks. Please respond by email. Dated 2 December 1997 BARRY, BERRY, PETTAY, GILKERSON
