I'm looking for information on Samuel ALLEN of Olive, "the pioneer miller of the valley" according to the History of Noble Co. 1887. According to the only info I have his daughter Relief married John GLIDDEN who was possibly a doctor and later Gilman DUDLEY. I am confused about the GLIDDENS because their printed genealogy lists father and son Dr. John Gliddens, the son living only from 1796 to 1816 and leaving several children at death! (His widow is listed as Relief ALLEN). If anyone can clear this up for me I'd be grateful. I am a descendant of John and Relief's son John who married Matilda DELONG; their son Isaac H. married Mary Ann CLARK/CLARKE in 1862 (she was daughter of Aurelius CLARKE and Mahala BLAKE). Isaac and Mary Ann's daughter Adda A. GLIDDEN (married George Washington ARCHER) was my ggmo. My ARCHER line is: Maurice Jr.-Maurice Sr.-George W.-Israel- Enoch-Joseph-James I-Patrick. I also need info on the family of Enoch ARCHER's first wife Naomi MILLER. I'll share anything I have on the above families. ALLEN, GLIDDEN

PRINGLE in Monroe County.. Their son Gideon married Olive Belle SMALLWOOD on 9 Sept. 1893. Her parents were John Henry SMALLWOOD and Maria E. HARBIN.
