Attempting to confirm possible relationship of Henry SHUMAN b 1814 d 1880 to Catharine SHUMAN MISEL b ca 1785 d 1873. Catharine WOOLFORD married James SHUMAN in Belmont Co 1810 and is listed as widow at time of marriage to John MISEL 1817 in Guernse y Co. Henry is buried with wife Sarah and daughter Susannah at Crooked Tree Cemetery directly behind Catharine. Suspect Henry to be son by first marriage? Early census records indicate at least one male in Catharine and John's family older than th e two known sons, John and David MISEL. Have descendents of Henry and Sarah listed as Jacob, Henry, Alonzo, Elizabeth, Lydia, Susannah, Levina, Mary, Rebecca, William, Sidney, Randolph and James A. Seeking information on all. Also, if Henry was Ca tharine's son, were there any other children by her first marriage?

Seeking information on, and descendents of, Merryman KEITH and Lucinda M MISEL KEITH. Nancy Misel May 4, 1997, 01:14
Seeking date and place of death for Rev Andrew Moses MISEL b 7 May 1861 in Jackson Twp to John and Harriet MISEL. A Methodist minister, he served at Newport, Washington Co 1901-1903, Sarahsville, Noble Co 1904-1906 and Claysville, Guernsey Co 1907 and 1908. He accepted no appointment in 1909 and 1910 and is then listed in the Kansas conference from 1911 until he retired in 1918. Kansas conference records list his death as 1947 in Kansas. This conflicts with a number of family memories which place him in Renrock in the 1930s. Family believes he was preaching in that area and assumption had been that he died at Renrock, date unknown. Looking for any information that would confirm or rule out either story. Also seeking information on wife Anna J and daughters Mary born ca 1891 and Ruth b ca 1893.

Nancy Misel May 4, 1997, 01:35
Seeking information on John Merryman MISEL, family and descendents. Born 16 Sep 1866 in Jackson Twp to John and Harriet MISEL. Married 30 Dec 1886 Clara (Clarissa) REANEY, b ca 1866, dau of John and Caroline REANEY. Not in 1900 Noble County census. Family history is that this is the "son who emigrated to Canada". Have located a mention of a J M MISEL near Calgary, Alberta in 1911. Family stories indicate they may have departed "in a hurry." Why and when? Also, have an 1897-98 school picture printed in the Caldwell paper a number of years ago that names two students as Bessie and Olen MISEL. These names are not known in the family. Age would appear about right to make it possible for them to be the children of John and Clara. Anyone know if this is the case or who these children were?
