Interesting Facts
The Norwood Electric streetcar from Eden Park ran along the east
side of this subdivision. It began regular runs about a month
before this subdivision's creation on July 1st, 1891, the day
after the first car made a trial trip. On July 4th, there was a
grand celebration in Norwood for Independence Day and the
completion of the electric railway, which had 10,000 paying
customers that day. In August, a Cincinnati
Enquirer reporter declared it "the longest five-cent
street-car line that the world knows of." |
