Fred Coldewey operated a dairy at 5310 Carthage Avenue ca.
1909-1912. August Coldewey lived there and was a driver for
that dairy. From 1913-1918 August Coldewey operated a dairy at
5130 Warren Avenue (on the east side of the street, between
Ross and Lawn Avenues). In the 1913 directory, he listed the
business under two names � his and Norwood Dairy. After
that, just the latter name was used. This indicated that the
bottle shown here is 100 years old. (Note: Both Fred's and
August's dairies could be considered in the Norwood View
neighborhood.) |
