In 1862 Peter EDY filed an action against Joseph METHENEY or METHENY, Sylvester W. PAYNE, Sarah RANDOLPH, Albert SHOEMAKER and wife Lucy SHOEMAKER (all of Morrow): if they didn't pay him $67.70, their land (Lot #137 in Cardington) would be seized. They did not come up with the money and April 16 1864 Merrit BURT came up with the price of the lot and bought it. Merritt was Lucy Shoemaker's uncle. What was going on here? I am searching for researchers of the UNDERWOOD line who lived in Morrow Co. in the early to mid 1800s. Specifically, I am trying to trace the lineage of Catherine UNDERWOOD who married my GGG Grandfather Joshua WORTMAN in 1845. Joshua remarried in 1847 so it appears Catherine died without any children. Does anyone know which UNDERWOOD line Catherine belongs to? Although she is not my direct line, it would help me trace my grandfather's steps.

Queries for November thru December 1998
The following pages contain the query information and, in many cases, the poster's contact information. However, due to some mysterious glitch, the surname, and researcher contact, information did not post to the Surname Registry and the Researcher Profiles like it did on the previous pages. I am at a loss as to how to fix it.
