COPSEY, KOEHN, SMITH posted by Leila Alfier on Friday, June 5, 1998

I am missing the cemetery location(s) of my great-grandmother, Levina (COPSEY) SMITH and great-grandfather, Henkle or Hinkle SMITH. Would someone be so kind as to look in their cemetery directories in Mercer Co. to see if these two people can be found. I found my grandparents and great-greatgrandparents buried in Auglaize Co. My grandfather, George B. McClellan SMITH, died in 1914 & grandmother Mary KOEHN SMITH in 1957. (That's not a typo. She was 97.) My great-greatgrandfather, Asa Hinkle SMITH, died in 1851 and great-greatgrandmother Caroline (???) SMITH in 1857. I believe the KOEHN family also lived in Mercer County.

AMRINE, MERCER posted by Carol Montrose on Monday, June 8, 1998

Frederick AMRINE married Mariah MERCER in Miami Co. Ohio Dec. 1847. By mid 1850's they'd purchased a farm in Blackcreek Twp., Mercer Co., and moved their growing family there. Frederick enlisted in the Civil War in the 171st OVI. Fred contracted some type of disease, typhoid or dissentary. Mariah went to get him in an open wagon and brought him home only to have him die the next day. June 8, 1864. Fred is buried in the King Cemetery just west of Rockford, Ohio. Would like information on his descendants.

BROOKS, HOKE posted by Roger Brooks on Wednesday, June 10, 1998

I am looking for information about siblings of David BROOKS. David and Susannah (HOKE) Lived in Misssissawa Township, Darke Co., OH, between 1833-1893. They were founders of the Raper Chapel church. The 1850 census lists a son of the age of 7 but in the 1860's census he dissappears. I am looking for David's and Susannah's obituaries as they died in August of 1893. This was recorded in the "Independent", I think this was a Ft. Recovery paper.
