Searching for others researching Enoch PLUMMER b 1814 or information on the PLUMMER family of Mercer Co. Enoch's brother Jeremiah PLUMMER was born 1808-10 in Auglaize Co., Ohio (one record says KY). I do not know who his parents are. He m Nancy MAY in KY before settling in Butler Twp, Mercer Co. in 1836. Their children are: John b 1834; Thomas b 1836 m Mary STUART 1863 in Piqua, Miami, Ohio; Enoch b 1838 m #1 Mary MUNSELL and #2 Suzanna BEANS; Cylinda (Jane) b 1840 m Frances BUXTON; Mary A. b 1842 m John BENNETT; James b 1845 m Sadonia (Dora) ADONAS; Nancy b and d 1849; Elizabeth; and Benjamin who owned a flour mill in Coldwater. Jeremiah and Nancy PLUMMER are buried in Young's Cem. (now called Waltman) in Butler Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio.

Searching for parents of Benjamin RHOADES b. 1835 d. 1925 m. to Samatha HOLMES. Records say Benjamin RHOADES' parents were John RHOADES b. PA. and Anna SCOTHER. Am trying to connect this family with the Albert RHOADES family of Mercer Co Hopewell Twp. Albert was the son of James Gregory RHOADES. They came to Mercer Co in 1866 from Hocking Co - Logan, Ohio.

His first wife was Christina Barbara GAGLE/GOEGLE, a widow (married 1845 Mercer Co.) Abraham MOWERY born ca. 1802 Penn.; died June 1869 Wabash Twp, Jay Co, Ind. Rachel CARMENE (later married Theodore HOOK/HUCK 1870 Mercer Co.) born June 23, 1845 Ohio; died December 28, 1920 Rockford, Mercer Co. Abraham and Rachel had three children: (1)Abraham MOWERY (born July 9, 1863 Wabash Twp, Jay Co, Ind; died December 21, 1915 Rockford, Mercer Co), (2)Francis Matilda MOWERY (born ca. 1866; died ?), (3)John MOWERY (born 1863-69; died as a small child?.) Interested in all SCHOLES/SCOLES in OH. Known to live in many counties including: Ashland, Belmont, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Knox, Mercer. There were 2 different John SCOLES, both progenitors of large families. Trying to sort them out! Especially interested in Andrew Wesley SCOLES b. 1799 MD, d. 1855 IN, lived in Knox Co.,OH many years. Was one of the first JP's in Pike Twp. He married Hannah CALVERT 1819 in Belmont Co.,OH. Interested in finding a George SCOLES thought to be Andrew's father. There was a George H. SCOLES b. 1788 who was a peer of Andrew's, but NOT a brother. Thanks.

Looking for info on Rebecca HANZER. She was born in Ohio about 1814. Her father (or adopted father) was William HANZER. Her birth name may have been PHILPOT. She married Wesley HANSON in 1837 in Mercer Co. She had 2 children - Henry and Zoeh (BEERY). She was alive in 1880 and living in Mercer Co. with daughter Zoeh BEERY. Any info would be appreciated.

He lived in Black Creek Township 3 1/2 mile N.E. of Chattanoga & 7 miles from Wilshire, Mercer County, Ohio 1890's. =also= John Edgar MURR married Mary Eunice BURCH also lived in log cabin in Mercer County 1890's. I have all 9 children's names, etc., but ancestors remain unknown. John's mother was the well known mid-wife, Granny STEVENS whose real name was Mary Elizabeth HINES MURR STEVENS[?] Her last husband was Perry STEVENS[?].

Ludwig (Lewis) ANSELMAN b 13 Apr 1809 in Ersingen, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany, married Catherine Elizabeth READER/REUDER probably bef 1839. Does anyone know the names of her parents or any information about her? They were the parents of ten known children and the family moved from Marion County to Mercer County via Auglaize County, Ohio, about 1848. Would like to correspond with descendants of this family.

Seeking information on Maschia (Massey) FISHER b. 2 April 1795 VA who married Jesse WALKER (son of Meshach WALKER of NJ) b. 12 March 1795 (probably in Luzerne Co PA) on 12 February 1818 in Muskingum Co OH. Needing information on Massey's family - parents, siblings, etc. Jesse and Massey's son Elias b. 18 March 1818 married Susan TURL of either Muskingum or Licking Co. Also looking to find any information on Susan's family. In 1820, Jesse lived in Muskingum Twp, Muskingum Co but by 1830 the family was living in Hanover Twp, Licking Co. OH. They appear to have owned land in both counties. Elias and Susan later settled in Mercer Co OH before heading west to Nebraska.
