To the family he said he was Delaware Indian, and had been born in and around Sandusky area. He would never tell anyone eles this because it was looked down upon to be an Indian. He was passing as white and doing a good job of it. He said he ran away to join up with the wagon trains going west and a family with the name LANE adopted him or he took their name. If anyone has any information on the name of LANE or LAIN in this area please let me know. Thank you for reading this.
