JOHNSTONE, WANGER posted by Joellen McGhee on 06/17/97
In an earlier post, I had Francis Marion JOHNSTONE'S wife and child as having died in the San Francisco earthquake. This information has turned out to be false. I do know that the family bible says that Francis was born in Mahoning County, but he lived in Red Rock, which I believe is in Iowa, for a while. The childs' name was Justine Johnstone, a silent film star of the early 1900's, who married Walter WANGER and had one child name Oliver. Can anyone help with the Johnstone name in Ohio?

BISHOP, FLANIGAN posted by John L Flanigan on 06/25/97
Trying to locate the parents of my grandfather, Thomas Fred FLANIGAN. He was married to Mary E. BISHOP. They had been divorced since I can remember. My Grandfather died in 1970 in Brecksville Ohio. My grandfather lived on a farm on Mines Rd in Howland I think. I believe that the farm was owned by his brother. My grandmother lived in what I think was called Ridge Homes in Warren. My Dad, had brothers named Ronald Jack, and Paul. All are deceased.

ADAMS, BOTTENFIELD, COCHRAN, GIST, HANEY, MCDOUGALL posted by Mary Hancock on 06/25/97
Searching for information regarding my gg-grandmother, Frances HANEY McDOUGALL, b in Mahoning Co probably in the 1840's. Some of her childhood may have been spent in Cleveland. She married Ruther McDOUGALL and lived in Springfield, IL for part of her life where she died approximately 1918. She was buried in Youngstown. I am trying to find the names of her parents. Her mother may have been Sarah BOTTENFIELD HANEY. The names of her siblings that I know are Irene Haney COCHRAN, Sarah Haney ADAMS, Captain John Hancock HANEY, and Joseph HANEY. Some of her siblings may have spent their adult life in Little Rock, AR. Frances Haney McDOUGALL was said to have been descended from Christopher GIST, guide and scout for George Washington.
