Be sure to put all your SURNAMES in capital letters.
Include known dates of birth, death, marriage. Even approximate dates will help narrow down what you are looking for.
Use standard genealogy dating such as 30 Mar 1938 or 1 Dec 1852 to avoid confusion.
Mention Lorain County in the query to make sure you get the information from Lorain County, and not possibly from Delaware County. It is possible, that there might be a John Smith born on 6 June 1908 in both counties. You want to be sure you get the right guy!
Include your ancestor's (or person of interest) parents and children if known. This might help with the John Smith possibility mentioned before.
Try to find a medium amount of information. Don't give the full history of the person you are looking for, but add enough to make it clear who you are talking about. The old "KISS" theory helps here. (Keep It Simple, Silly!)
Be sure to include your name and email address. Folks with that information you need can't get it to you if you forget this important part!!
