Meetings are held the second Monday of each month in the meeting room at the North Ridgeville Branch of the Lorain Public Library, 35700 Bainbridge Road, North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039, 440-327-8326. Social Time: 6:30 pm; the general meeting and program begins at 7:00 pm. Exceptions such as field trips, picnics and other activities will be announced in advance here and in the Lorain County Researcher. April 14 - Unlocking the Keystone State: Key Resources and Repositories for Pennsylvania Research - Chris Staats will help researchers overcome some of the challenges of finding their Pennsylvania ancestors.

April 30 - May 3 - OGS Conference - GENEX 2014 - Kalahari Resort and Conference Center, Sandusky, OH - www.genex2014.org or www.ogs.org for information.

May 12 - "A Presidential Library with a Genealogical Slant: Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center"� Becky Hill, Head Librarian of the Hayes Presidential Library will discuss the genealogy research opportunities available in their collection.

June 9 - "Genealogical Research in Kentucky" - Tom Neel, the Ohio Genealogical Society Library Director, will guide researchers through the sources available to find their Kentucky ancestors

July 14 - Annual Picnic with Wellington Genealogical Group, Black River Genealogists, and Lorain County Chapter � Join us for a relaxing evening with members of our Associate groups. Bring a dish to share, your table setting and beverage. Gather at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. Carlisle Room, Carlisle Reservation, Lorain County Metro Parks, 12882 Diagonal Rd., LaGrange.

August 11 - "Beyond the Docket Books: Digging For Gold In Probate Packets"by Chris Staats. - Will books and probate dockets can provide a great deal of information about our ancestors, but the original estate (probate) file can reveal details about our ancestors and their families that no other record group is likely to document.

September 8 - "Newspaper Research" by Debbie Abbott - Debbie Abbott will discuss the genealogical treasures found in newspapers, how to search for the genealogical information, and how to locate old newspapers that are microfilmed and/or digitized.

October 13 - "Why Didn't They Use a Typewriter or How to Read Old, Difficult Handwriting" - Betty Franklin of the Family History Center in Westlake will discuss the development of handwriting with variations and basic strategies to decipher old handwriting.
