He was born in Massachusetts, but came to
Huntington, Lorain, Ohio. In 1835, he married Miss Eliza A. Cone of Ashtabula County, Ohio.
Together the couple had six children: Marcus, Paul, Lucian, Francis, Agnes and Fay.
