I am looking for information on the several JEFFERS
women who married in
Jefferson County in the early 1800's. My 4th
great-grandfather was William
JEFFERS, who immigrated from Ireland in 1804 and
lived in Jefferson County
until approximately 1814-1817. The first individual
was Anna JEFFERS, who
married Richard LOW on 29 March 1815. The next one
is Jean JEFFERS, who
married Jesse STEWART on 22 August 1811. The final
one is Rebecca JEFFERS,
who wed Charles KIMBALL on 10 November 1816. All
three of these women would
likely have been born in Ireland. I believe Jesse
STEWART and Charles
KIMBALL were both residents of Warren Township in
1850, but I cannot verify
this because I do not have access to the actual
census records. Any help on
these families would be most appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

Also would like any information on one James ROSS who may have come from PA

I am an attorney in Marietta, Ohio I am preparing a partition action with
regard to real estate situated in Washington County. The subject real
estate was deeded to Charles Edward KNOWLTON, J. N. HUNTER and Marie H.
CRIMM in 1937. I represent Deloris KNOWLTON, widow of Charles Edward
KNOWLTON. I think J. N. HUNTER may have died resident of Jefferson County,
perhaps of Rayland, that he died unmarried and left everything to his
sister. Would you, or someone you could refer, be willing for a reasonable
fee to search the probate records to see if the heirs of said J. N. HUNTER
could be determined and maybe located. I don't know anything about Marie H.
CRIMM, except she may have been from Jefferson County, or possibly
Columbiana or Monroe Counties. If I get lucky with Mr. HUNTER, I may pursue
her name further.

Elizabeth CAPSTICK married David BARRON 23 Mar 1840 in Jefferson County,
having emigrated from England on the "Dalhouse Castle" into New York in
August 1829, at which time she (age 26, b. abt. 1803) arrived with her two
sons Jonathan (age 4, b. 29 May 1825) and Joseph (age 2, b. abt. 1827).
Joseph CAPSTACK, my 3gf, married Mary Jane COLEMAN in Cadiz in 1849 and is
listed on the 1860 Jefferson County census; he was a veteran of the 157th
OVI when he died in Quaker City 11 May 1896. Jonathan CAPSTACK married
Emma
RILEY 2 May 1846 and naturalized as a US citizen 28 Sep 1846 with testimony
from William BARRON, presumably related to David but I can't prove it, yet.
Any and all information related to these families much appreciated!
