GOODENOW posted by Thomas Simpson on Tuesday, February 20, 2001

I have been requested to assist in the research on John Milton GOODENOW. He appears on the 1820 Federal Census as the "Head Of Family" Pg.76, Jefferson County, Steubenville, and was born between 1775-1794,written pg.505,printed pg.258.When and were he died is unknown to me. I do have a record that mentions him as having passed away by 1852. He was prominent in Masonic Affaires up to 1834, then nothing until a tribute in 1852. This distinguished Mason was very innovative and was the First Grand Master form this part of Ohio. An Award in his name is given every year to a person demonstrating great service to the community and/or the fraternity in Jefferson, Columbiana,or Mahonning Counties.Any help will be greatly appreciated
