Having just received the death certificate for my
gr-grandmother Mary
Letitia, it states that she was born in
Steubenville, Jefferson Co, on
November 18, 1875, to John HENRY and Irene
(Unknown).
I would desperately love to find out any information
on this family - I
do know that father John had a sister named
Victoria, and that Mary had
siblings by the name of Kate H., Ed, and Goldie
(believed to have died
young). Mary would marry up in Seneca Co. in 1894,
but can't find any
trace of the rest of the family in that area. I do
have a photo of John
HENRY taken about mid to late 1920's, so he was
still alive at that
point. Sister Kate would marry Joseph ZBANEK from
Iowa.
I would also appreciate any help in determining
mother Irene's maiden
name.

My gg grandfather was Michael SPONSLER. His Civil War Papers say he was
born in Jefferson Co., OH. I have been searching for a long time trying to
locate his parents. Michael was born 5 Feb. 1830. In the 1830 Census
listing of Jefferson Co., OH. I did not find a SPONSLER but did find the
name SHONSLER. Could this possibly be an error in spelling and be the
family I have been looking for? Any assistance or advice would be

probably in the area of Washington County, PA,
Jefferson, Harrison or
Belmont County in Ohio. William WATT & wife
Eleanor, took up land in
Harrison County, Ohio, abt 1807. The land
document says they were from
Washington County, PA. William and Eleanor might
be Lemuel's parents. Also
found reference to a William Watt being born in
that area abt 1775, son of
Samuel Watt. Cross Creek Cemetery, in Washington
County, PA, has a Samuel
Watt, who died 17 Jan 1805, ae 66 yrs. Could he be
the father of William?

Brownlee who I think m. Phoebe Prosser, James

who marries Henry Maxwell. They are all in

be Jefferson County Ohio.
I've found marriage records as follows in
Jefferson County:
Thomas Brownlee m. Mary McKim 1877
Rachael A. Brownlee m. Austin Robb 1867
Daniel Brownlee m. Annie Risden 1866
Sarah Brownlee m. George Deber 1871.

HOUSEHOLDER, CLENDENING
Looking for family/info on Harry Householder, my Ggrandfather. His mother
died when he was young and he was raised by some of his mother's family.
During this time, he used the surname Clendening. The closeset I can come
to a birthdate is early to mid 1880s. I have a story book of his in which
is inscribed: "Bought December 24, 1898" & "Harry Clendening
Knoxville Ohio Jeff Co March 22, 1900" The 1900 penmanship is very
ornate so at that time I imagine him to be in his late teens. He married
Blanche Klingaman in Richland Co WI and their daughter Lucile was born in
1913. They returned for a time to OH, possibly Jefferson Co, as my
grandmother graduated high school in OH. Lucile was married in IL to Earl
Nesbitt in 1931. Harry had a sister and 1-maybe 2-brothers. One brother
settled in WV. Can anyone help? Will share info with a connection. Thanks.
