CASPER, DALRYMPLE, TARR posted by Lance Tarr on Sunday, May 3, 1998

I am looking for information on one of the descendents of Peter TARR. Casper TARR was born of William A. TARR (b: 1818 d: 1886) and Elvira DALRYMPLE (b:1822 d:1908). They are both are buried in the New Alexandria Cemetary (where ever that is). Their children were John B., Josephine, Lucinda, Lewis Fremont, Madison, Ida Belle, Wilbur Lawrence, and Casper. I believe Casper is the father of my grandfather, William A. TARR who was born in 1880 and died in 1971. He (my grandfather) lived in Wellsburg most of his life. If I can verify that this particular 'Casper' (as Peter TARR and Mary CASPER had a son named Casper) is my great great grandfather, then I've found a direct line to Peter TARR. In addition, I have information on Daniel TARR (another of Peter's sons) who is buried in Harmony Cemetary on Georges Run in Jefferson county. I don't know where Harmony Cemetary or George's Run is. Can you enlighten me? The Tarr ''home farm'' is said to have been on George's Run. A son of Daniel's (Elza Andrew TARR) is said to have frequently walked from the farm to Eldersville(?) and back.

CLAIR, CLAIRE, CLEAR, MAPLES, MILLS posted by Helen Spiller on Sunday, May 3, 1998

William MILLS showed up in Jefferson County before 1810, the Jefferson Co. History states that he was from Bucks Co., PA. I find signs that the other MILLS that shows up there about that time were relation. ie: John and George When Carroll Co. was formed in 1833 he was then in that County. He died in Carrollton in 1863 and is burried there, in the veterans section. I can not remember the name of the cemetery without looking it up. He was married to Sarah CLAIR/CLAIRE/CLEAR and to Sarah MAPLES. I have not found his marriage to Sarah CLAIRE but know it was before 1823. He married Sarah MAPLES in Carroll Co. in 1834. There was one son John that remained there in that part of the country. Helen in TX
