I'm looking for information on a Michael RODGERS who
bought land at the Steubenville Land Office 20 Oct 1824.
It says his land was in "Section 19, 6N Township, Range
4W". Where would this be? And is there any record of his
wife and/or children?
I'm wondering if this is the same person as:
1) Michael ROGERS who is in the 1830 OH Census in Harrison
Co, Athens Twp and/or
2) the Michael RODGERS who had a daughter Marion in 1822
in "Harrison Co OH" (from an undocumented family
narrative)
Our family narrative says that daughter Marion married
Jesse DONEY 1838 in "Coshocton Co., OH". Can't find record
of the marriage there, either!
Would appreciate any help. (Would be happy to share DONEY
descendent info:) Thanks!

FRIEND, STEWART, RUSSELL
I am looking for the family of Jane STEWART that married Samuel FRIEND in
Jefferson County on 12 Jun 1849. Samuel and Jane FRIEND were in the 1850
census in Brush Creek, Jefferson, Ohio. (By 1860, the Friends are in Nokomis,
Illinois.)
Jane was the daughter of James and Jane (RUSSELL) STEWART, and was born
in Palmyra, Wayne, New York in about 1831. Her father died while she was a
baby, and family tradition indicates that the mother died in Ohio, in about
1845. I suspect that this mother, Jane (Russell) Stewart (b. abt 1805 in
Ireland) would have remarried somewhere.
I am especially interested in finding any FRIEND descendants, and I have
lots to share on Jane STEWART's brother's descendants. (John Stewart, b. 1829,
died 1893, in Baker, Baker Oregon.)
Any tidbits of information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Sidnie Merrill Wilson
