I am looking for information on Thomas ROUSE, Sr. He was born in Queen Anne County, MD in 1762, and the family moved to the Pittsburgh area. He was in the Rev. War, He settled in the Short Creek area of Jefferson Co. He was married twice. There were three sons to his first wife, George, Edward and David. He married Nancy LOUP / LRAF / LROF (not sure of correct spelling) in 1798, and they had three children, Ann, Margaret & Thomas. Thomas Jr. was my Gr-Great-Grandfather. We have Thomas Sr.'s pension papers, but am looking for information who Thomas Sr. parents were, who were Nancy's parents and the correct spelling of their name. I'm looking for information that I can use for First Families and/or DAR. I also need the correct information on where and when Thomas Jr. was born. What we have is about 1801 in Belmont Co., but are not sure if this is correct. We have alot of information, but most can not be documented as being correct. Any help would be appreciated.

Seeking information on the siblings and ancestors of John TWADDLE (b.1766-d.1843 in Jefferson Co.,OH) and his brother Alexander TWADDLE (b.1782-d.1859 in Huron Co.,OH). We do not know the whereabouts of the families of three brothers: James TWADDLE, Philip TWADDLE, AND Archie TWADDLE (all born after 1774 in Washington Co. Pa) and two sisters Mary TWADDLE and Sarah TWADDLE (born also around that time). Our goal is to establish the ancestorship of these Twaddles. Our family oral history suggests that they are decended from an Alexander TWADDLE (b. ca 1745) in Donegal Co. Ireland, Wife unknown, a patriot in the Washington Co. militia. The two youngest children of this family, Margaret (b. 1791) married Solomon Deffenbaugh and William (b.1794) migrated to Zanesville, OH.

I am looking for information on the MUSHRUSH surname, including the original name and country of origin. I am a descendent of Michael MUSHRUSH, who after spending some time near Pittsburgh, settled in Crawford Co. Penna. prior to 1800. He also had a sister Rosanah, who settled in the same area, and a brother Solomon MUSHRUSH, about whom I know nothing. The 1850 Ohio census shows a Solomon MUSHRUSH in Jefferson county at that time. I believe that Mushrushes still live in the Steubenville area. The 1800 Penna census also shows a George MUSHRUSH IN Allegheny Co, and a Jacob MUSHRUSH in Washington Co.
