Mrs. Susan Smith

Mrs. Susan (Susie) Smith, 81, of 1124 Lincoln Ave., widow of Fred Smith, died Sunday at 8:15 a.m. in Ohio Valley Hospital.

Mrs. Smith, a member of Finley Methodist Church, was preceded in death by her husband in 1951.

She was the mother of 12 children and leaves 115 descendants. The six surviving children include three sons, Elmer, Harry and Donald Smith, and three daughters, Mrs. James (Mildred) Monigold, Mrs. Harry (Laura) Brockway and Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Close, all of Steubenville. She also leaves a brother, Thomas Bickerstaff at home; 36 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 14, 1891, in Steubenville.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday; services there Wednesday 2 p.m., the Rev. Mr. Prentice Abel; Oakland Cemetery.
