BATEMAN

Mrs. Odessa Vankirk Bateman, 81, died at 6 a.m., Monday, January 19, 1970 in the Lancia Convalescent Center where she had been residing. Mrs. Bateman was a former resident of Maryland Ave., Steubenville, Ohio. Born in Steubenville, Ohio May 5, 1888, daughter of the late Nathaniel W. and Anna VanKirk. FOrmer teacher in Steubenville Elementary School System. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a past regent of the D. A. R. Survived by her husband, Oliver W. Bateman of Steubenville, Ohio. Friends may call at the McClave Funeral Home, Tuesday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 1970 in the McClave Chapel with Rev. Ross W. Porter officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery. DAR services at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
