LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF PHEBE CRANE, of Hamilton County Ohio
Filed Feb. 10, 1829

In the name of God Amen.
I PHEBE CRANE of the town of Reading in the County of Hamilton and
State of Ohio , being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and
memory...do
make and constitute this my last will and testament in the words
following
(That is)
-
1st I will and direct that all my just debts and funeral charges
be paid.
-
2nd I give and bequeath to my daughter ABIGAIL CRANE all my
moveable
property now in her possession (excepting my looking glass) and also I
give her my large brass kettle together with the sum of one hundred
Dollars
to be paid to her in small payments as her necessities may require for
her support or subsistance.

3rd I give and bequeath to my Daughter MARY EDWARDS my Stand of
Curtains.

4th I give and bequeath to my son WILLIAM CRANE my large Bible
and
one bed, and all the monies that may be due me for rent or that may
become
due on any contract for which I have made although the same may not be
due untill after my death, to enable him to pay my debts and funeral
expenses.

5th I give and bequeath to my Grand daughter RACHEL CRANE my
Spining
[sic] wheel.

6th I give and bequeath to my Grand daughter MARY CRANE my
looking
glass.
-
7th I give and bequeath to my Grand daughter PHEBE RANE my silver
tea spoons.
-
8th I give and bequeath to my son WILLIAM CRANE and to my Grand
son
WILLIAM HENRY SLOAN a note for fifty Dollars on my son STEPHEN CRANE to
be equally divided between them, but no Interest shall be demanded on
said
note.

9th I give and bequeath to my Daughters MARY EDWARDS and ABIGAIL
CRANE all my wearing apparel and all my moveable property not herein
otherwise
disposed of.

10th I will and bequeath to my Daughter MARY EDWARDS the sum of
one
hundred Dollars one half to be paid within one year after my Death and
the other half one year thereafter.

11th I give and bequeath to my Grand Children URIAH CRANE, THOMAS
CRANE, DAVID CRANE and PHEBE CRANE Children of my son MOSES CRANE the
sum
of twelve Dollars fifty cents each to be paid to them and each of them
as they severally arrive at lawful age.

12th I will and bequeath and Devise unto my two sons STEPHEN
CRANE
and WILLIAM CRANE to them and to their heirs and assigns forever all my
tract of Land containing ninety-six and half acres lying in Butler
County
Deeded to me by deed bearing date the twenty seventh day of October one
thousand eight hundred and fourteen [27 Oct 1814] by STEPHEN CRANE, my
son STEPHEN CRANE being hereby bound and obligated to pay the sum of
one
hundred Dollars to my Daughter MARY EDWARDS and the further sum of
fifty
Dollars to the Children of MOSES CRANE as herein before bequeathed to
them
severally, and my son WILLIAM CRANE being bound and obligated to pay
unto
my Daughter ABIGAIL CRANE the sum of one hundred Dollars as herein
before
to her bequeathed.
I hereby nominate and appoint my son WILLIAM CRANE sole executor
of this
my last will and testament and do hereby will and direct that he be
constituted
my Executor without being compelled or required to give bail for his
performance.
In witness whereof I PHEBE CRANE have hereunto set my hand and seal
this
fourth day of December in the year one thousand eight hundred and
twenty-eight
