Donald  Scofield, 88, Cincinnati, died Wednesday, Aug. 27 at Deaconness Hospital,  Cincinnati.   He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Sayles) Scofield; son, Daniel  Scofield; and daughter, Sandra Bartz.   Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roseland Memorial Gardens,  Jackson, Mich.  Visitation is 1 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the cemetery.  Avance Funeral Home, Fairfield, is in charge of arrangements.

 Samuel D. Smith, age 84, passed away Sunday, September 7, 1997.  He is the  loving and devoted husband of Ida Smith, beloved father of Marcia and David  Smith, dear brother of Edna Hoard; (Eston) Margaret thomas.  He is also   survived by step-daughter, Minnie Todd; four grandchildren; two great
 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.    Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 1997 11:00 a.m. at Hall & Jordan Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio.   Visitation services are at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Eric Cason officiating.   Burial services will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery.

  Estella M. Sayers Johnson, age 84, of Darrtown, Ohio, died Tuesday,  September 16, 1997 at the McCullough Hyde Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.  She was born on May 3, 1913 and was the daughter of Orval O. and Bertha M.  Wiley Sayers.  She attended McGuffey School.  On January 7, 1931 she married Floyd W. Johnson in Oxford, Ohio.  He preceded her in death on  November 28, 1993.  She was a member of the Oxford Senior Citizens and the  Darrtown United Methodist Church.   She is survived by her son, Donald and wife Linda of Phoenix, Arizona; two  sisters, Gladys Hines of Hamilton, Ohio, Mildred Connor of Ardmore,  Oklahoma; two brothers, Virgil Sayers of Hamilton, Ohio and Grodon Sayers  of Newton Falls, Ohio; nieces, nephews and many friends.  She was preceded  in death by a brother, Marvin Sayers.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. at  the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, 101 West Church St., Oxford, Ohio with  visitation 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may  be made to the Darrtown United Mehtodist Church.

 Daisy (Wilder) Linville, 62, Cincinnati, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Hospice  of Blue Ash.  She is survived by her sons, Robert C. and Bradley Linville; and daughters,  Teresa Proffitt and Monica L. Fair.   Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday at the Hawthorne-Bowles Funeral Home,  7830 Hamilton Ave., Mount Healthy.  Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at the  funeral home.

Thomas  Lowell Blair, age 55, died unexpectedly Monday, August 25, 1997, at Fort  Hamilton Hughes Hospital.  He was born April 14, 1942 in Paintsville,  Kentucky, to Everett and Frankie (Woods) blair.  He attended Mansfield City  Schools and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1960.  He also attended  Miami University.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Elain Bahl on January 19, 1964 and they shared over 33 blessed years together.  They were blessed with two  daughters, who Tom was very thankful for.  He was proud of his only  granddaughter, who called him "Gramp". He also enjoyed spending a great  deal of time with his son-in-law playing golf and tennis.   Tom was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder and  Deacon for many years.  He was active in the Big Brothers program and was a  past president of Lincoln P.T.A.  He has been involved with fundraisers at the Y.M.C.A. and he donated over 5 gallons of blood to the Blood Center.   He was a member of the New London Hill Tennis Club where he played in a  weekly tennis league.   Tom was employed by Kentucky Dental as a Sales Representative and he served  manylocal dentists.  He was very handy and always ready to help a neighbor  or friend in need.  His generosity and caring for others was endless.   He is survived byhis wife, Barbara; his daughters, Andrea and husband, Tony  Batt of West Chester, Christin Blair of Fairfield; granddaughter, Lauren  Christine Batt; his mother, Frankie Blair of Mansfield, Ohio; three  brothers, Douglas of Mansfield, Charles of Tucson, Arizona, Ronald of  Arcadia, Florida; his mother-in-law, Genevieve Bahl; nieces, nephews, and  many friends in the Hamilton Community.  He was preceded in death by his  father, Everett Blair in 1971, and his father-in-law to whom he was  devoted, Charles Bahl in 1996.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral  Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. With Rev. Daniel Snider officiating.   Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.  Friends may call Thursday from  4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Maham, 77, Cincinnati, died Monday, Sept. 15.  He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Werner) Maham; son, Steven Maham; and  daughter, Donna Cooper.   Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Oak Hills United Methodist  Church, Bridgetown.  Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Bolton &  Lunsford Funeral Home, 3042 Harrison Ave., Westwood.

  Robert McGuire, 54, Hamilton, died Monday, Sept. 15, at Jewish Hospital Kenwood.  He is survived by wife, Diana McGuire; and daughters, Kristina McGuire,  Carmen Alridge and Renay Williams.   Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Christ Temple Church of God  in Christ, 577 S. Second St., Hamilton.  Visitation is 9:30 a.m. to 10:30  a.m. Saturday at the chruch.  The Green-Hall and Jordan Memorial Chapel,  Hamilton, is in charge of arrangements.

 Pearl Smith, age 88, died September 14, 1997 at Fort Hamilton Hughes Hospital.  She is a retired nurse from Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She is also a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Hamilton, Ohio.  She is survived by one son, Robert Jennings; eight grandchildren, Treva  Butler, Dwyane L., Lawrence A., Lonnie J, Keisha D., Chantel, Marylee, and  Robert L. Jennings Jr.  She is also survived by thirty great grandchildren; twenty great great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held, Friday September 19, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. at  Green-Hall & Jordan Memorial Chapel.  Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be held at Greenwood cemetery.
