Aaron Lane, son of Garret and Mayke Sutphen Lane of New Jersey was born 2 Jan 1763, and died 1845 in Hamilton County.

Aaron Lane came to Springfield {now Springdale} Ohio in 1797-8. He was born in Somerset County, New Jersey married Sarah Van Doren, daughter of Aaron Van Doren. She was born 27 Nov 1767 and died 1800 in Hamilton County. Aaron and Sarah had two sons, John and Aaron, to whom their grandfather, Aaron Von Doren, in New Jersey, willed land in 1826. He had purchased this location in Hamilton County from John Cleves Symmes and stated in his will that his grandsons had already settled on it.

He married his second wife Elizabeth Carnahan, sister of James Carnahan, another pioneer settler. She died in 1855 and she and Aaron are buried in the cemetery at New Burlington. Their children were William, Sarah, Abigail, Jane, Hannah, and Garret. Of these Garret, born 1816, was living in the family homestead with his wife, Hannah Gantz, whom he had married in 1847. Their two children died in infancy.

John Lane, son of Aaron and Sarah, married Rosanah Crum, 14 Sep 1815. The following births are listed in the bible.

{A newspaper clipping pasted in the Bible states that he died Dec 1 ? aged 84 years at Ludlow Station, where Mrs. Josephine C Ludlow died the same day}

{A newspaper clipping stated that Aaron Van Doren Lane was born and reared in the old Lane homestead near Mt. Healthy. He died at the age of 75 years and had been a highly cultured man, very literary, and a writer of newspaper and magazine articles. He left two daughters, Mrs. Whippy, in Carthage, and Mrs. J A Skillman}

{Clipping gives the information that he had been a Sergeant and was killed in action. He left his widow, Fanny E Lane, and a daughter, Florence E, who died 6 Nov 1863 at 2 years and 11 months}

Isaac Lane, eldest son of John and Rosanah was born in the old Lane homestead in Springfield Township and married 1839 Margaret Hill. He died in 1903 and both are buried in the New Burlington Cemetery. He was a blacksmith and a farmer. He and Margaret had 11 children; Mary {died in infancy}, Albert, Emma, John, Anna, Frank, Newton, Charles, Jerome, Nettie, and William. They belonged to the Christian Church.
