The WPA Maps of
Wesleyan Cemetery

Sherri's note:These maps are provided as a tool for genealogists and family historians that are researching Wesleyan Cemetery.

They are the 9 maps made by the WPA in 1939, and are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to see the changes to Wesleyan between 1939 and today. These maps can be considered "the Bible" to base all else on, when dealing with property lines and sections and for any disputes concerning any possible later changes. You will also find the 10th page of the WPA report, which completes the listing of military burials.

The maps of Wesleyan Cemetery were made under WPA's Official Project Nos. 465-42-3-467 and 665-42-3-232.

Copies of these maps were obtained from the Hamilton County Recorder's Office (located in the Hamilton County Administration Building), but are also available on microfilm through any LDS Family History Center (film #2259741) and the Belgen Library at the University of Cincinnati. If you would like to purchase copies of these maps, they can be made from microfiche in the Recorder's Office, or contact Mr. Dave Pittinger, in the Public Information section at (513)946-4573.

Shown on these maps are the Sections, then the Lots that hold multiple grave sites. A few maps show Graves within sections.

What you will find for each of the below maps are 5 views, the first is a full-size photo, for reference. The two files following the first full size photo of each WPA page are reduced images of the left and right sides of the page, and each gives more detail than the full view. The last two images are the ones to refer to if you want more detail or printed copies. These 2 map views have been reduced by 50% of the original printout, and should each fit onto an 8 1/2" x 11" page. The two pages will match up to be one large map.

On some of the following map pages, you will find military burial information that was listed during the WPA project. This information is in the process of being transcribed, and will be available separately for searches soon.
