SURNAMES: FRIEND, PERAGEN, PETTIJOHN, BOGGS
I would like to get some help from those that know much about the Friend family that came to Gallia County. Andrew FRIEND married Elizabeth PERAGEN in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. I don't have the exact date but would like to know. They settled in Perry Township where Andrew built a cabin on Big Raccoon creek, three miles from the present village of Patriot. Andrew has occupied a cave on Dirty Face creek in Greenfield township, called Friend's Rock House. Also one in Walnut township. Elizabeth PERAGEN is a mystery to me for I got a phone call once from a gentleman name PETTIJOHN asking me to check on any Pettijohn for there were many variation of names. I would like to see if anyone has any information about this couple and their family. I have their children listed as Hannah, Mary, Jane, Nicholas, Andrew Jr., Harriet, and Electa. Some believe Andrew died about 1825. Elizabeth later remarried to Andrew BOGGS in Indiana where she went with her son Nicholas. It seems that half of the children stayed in Ohio and the other half went to Indiana. Email me if you have any information for me about these two people.

SURNAMES: SKIFFINGTON, MCCOY, HEAVY
I am looking for info on William SKIFFINGTON and Ellen Ann MCCOY. It looks like the 1870 Ohio Census from Gallia County Greenfield Township shows these two with several children. Robert 12, James 11, Thomas 9, Margaret 7, Hugh 4, and William 2. It shows William and Ellen both born in Ireland and there son Robert born in Scotland. If this were the case then I would say they would have immigrated in about 1859 give or take a year on each end and Robert was probably born along the way. The birth records of Gallia County show that William and Ellen had 2 more children, John in 1871 and Peter my wife's gg grandfather in 1873. And it looks like a Catherine SKIFFINGTON was born in 1871 to a Mary HEAVY and Barney SKIFFINGTON, who appeared to have moved from Kentucky. They must have been related. This Barney was in the ships immigration list but William was not, his father may have been the one who signed all the papers and took the oath of allegiance. There was also one more SKIFFINGTON in Gallia County. That was Mary who was in the 1880 census as a servant and also from Kentucky, probably another of Barney's children or possibly his wife. If anyone has any info on this group of Skiffington please let me know.
