George Josephson  Photo of Monument with Greek Letters  Middletown Cemetery Middletown Ohio  Died October 20, 1918 Buried October 21 1918 EA SE Lot 188
Death Certificate Informant Celias Gays white single male  age about 35 years  born Turkey  parents not listed worked at steel mill  vcm  - ND adds: Chas Gays' name appears in #14 box of the death certificate. He must have been a friend or he knew George Josephson.  Chas Gays was a Greek restaurateur who had a restaurant near the Spot on Central and later near the city bus station on Broad Street.  Gays moved from Middletown when John Ross took over the property and build
a huge store.

ND Note:Reads:  Kleovoulos Iosifedes Josephedes) Age 33 Expired  6/19  October  1918I have never heard of "Kleovoulos" as a name.  The "os" in the first name makes the name masculine.  "Iosifedes" translates as "son of Joseph."  The "edes" in his last name means "son of" and also makes him an Asia Minor Greek. The 6/19 October date is interesting.  Whoever ordered the tombstone was taking no chances.  He had both the old calendar date and the new calendar date on the tombstone.  There is a 13 day difference between the old and new calendars.
