BOLEY, HOLMES, HOOVER, KNIPE, MCQUEEN, SNYDER, YEAGLEY posted by Jeff McQueen on Sunday, March 8, 2009

I'm trying to prove conclusively, Henry MCQUEEN, b. abt. 1828 in Camillus, Onondaga County, New York, was the husband of Elizabeth SNYDER and father of William H. MCQUEEN and Adaline Elizabeth (MCQUEEN) YEAGLEY. I found William H. and Adaline living with their maternal grandparents (John J. SNYDER and Elizabeth (HOOVER) SNYDER) in the 1860 Census of Clinton Township, Fulton County, Ohio. In the 1850 census of Clinton Township, Fulton County, Ohio the uncle of William H. and Adaline . . . James MCQUEEN is living with Horace Boley, Alvira (HOLMES) BOLEY (Horace's wife) and Edson HOLMES. James later married Alvira's and Edson's sister Sarah Ann HOLMES and then moved up to the town of Hudson in Lenawee County, Michigan. The HOLMES and BOLEY families moved to Fulton County from Onondaga County, New York. Elizabeth (SNYDER) MCQUEEN died 22 Nov 1855 just 20 days after her daughter Adaline was born. I found Elizabeth grave marker in Kline United Brethren Cemetery (a.k.a. Freedom Cemetery) in Henry County, Ohio and replaced the marker with a new one in 2007, since the old one was getting difficult to read. Elizabeth is buried next to her brother Jacob. After the death of Elizabeth (SNYDER) McQueen and her brother Jacob, their parents moved to Wilson Township in Ellsworth County, Kansas. I believe Henry MCQUEEN moved to Alamo Township in Kalamazoo County, Michigan after Elizabeth (SNYDER) MCQUEEN died and married a Canadian woman named Hannah and had another son, named John W. MCQUEEN who eventually moved out to Judical Township in Kern County, California. I'm hoping to find a deed which from Fulton County, Ohio or will from Kalamazoo County, Michigan which will conclusively tie Henry MCQUEEN to Elizabeth (SNYDER) MCQUEEN. Through a process of elimination, Henry MCQUEEN is the only possible candidate to be the husband of Elizabeth. I also joined the MCQUEEN DNA Study at Ancestry.com with a descendent of James MCQUEEN and our DNA matched 42 of 43 markers (97.7%), which makes sense, since our connection is the father of Henry and James MCQUEEN (who was Peter MCQUEEN). Peter would be my great-great-great-greatgrandfather. Best Regards, My mailing address is Jeff McQueen at 336 Longford, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309
