SWARTOUT, VANVLEET, WYCKOFF posted by Judy Baker on Wednesday, November 27, 2002

SWARTOUT,VANVLEET,WYCKOFF Dear Fulton County Genealogists, I recently found a reference to Amy SWARTOUT (Swarthout, Swartwout) in the 1870 census of Dover Twp, Fulton County, Ohio. She is living with her daughter and husband, Mary Swartout VAN VLEET (1828-1897) and Ethan Watson VAN VLEET and their four children in Emery (184/181, page 22). I am researching Amy Swartouts connection to our WYCKOFF line. Amy Swartout, widow of Jonathan Swartout, of Seneca County, NY, died 26 January 1872, as recorded in the Swarthout-VanVleet family bible. The dates of birth and death for my great great grandfather, James F. Wyckoff, 1820-1870, also appear in this same bible record. I believe James was Amy's son by her first marriage. I would like to determine if Amy Swartout is buried in Fulton County, Ohio. Can someone please help me with a cemetery or obituary lookup or direct me to the right person, who can help with this? I appreciate any assistance you can give me. Thank you. Judy Baker PO Box 24 Canandaigua, NY 14424
