SKATES posted by Linda Skates Critchfield. on Thursday, March 26, 1998

My grandfather's grandfather was Patrick Henry SKATES. He was born in Virginia ca. 1802, moved to Franklin County Ohio 1802-1830, married in Seneca County ca 1830, and ultimately moved to Liberty Center by 1850. I am trying to find out who his father was. I am at a dead end wall. Are there any resources in Henry County that I have not already checked? I know he owned land in Henry County, died in Henry County and who all of his descendants are, many of whom are in Fulton County. I NEED parents names to tie it all together with the Virginia Skates.

GAGE, VERNIER posted by Carolyn Gage on Saturday, March 28, 1998

I am looking for information concerning Alice VERNIER, who was born in France, probably in the 1870's, and came to the US as a young girl. I believe that she lived with relatives, not parents, in Archbold. She was married to John E. GAGE, but I am not certain whether the marriage took place in Ohio or Indiana. The family lived in Montpelier after the marriage, and I have contacted Williams County about this. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
