I am looking for information on my g-g-g-grandmother, Caroline TURNER and her family, possibly daughter of, or related to Amaziah TURNER. She was born 29 April 1823 in NY (location unknown) > was living with the Peter POWERS family in Fulton County, OH in the 1850 census > married Danforth W. KENNEDY and moved to Morenci, MI where she died 8 April 1906. The 1880 census also states both her parents were born in NY. Any help on this family would be appreciated.

PARROTT posted by Sharon Parrott Crawford on Friday, July 11, 1997

I was born on 7/12/41 in Wauseon, abandoned on the PARROTT'S porch, and they adopted me. I'm sure if someone could search the newspaper archives for that week you will find an article stating baby girl found on porch. The adoption took place in Fulton County, and my adoption papers read Jane Doe. My birth was not recorded at that time. I did not have a birth certificate until I was sixteen. I'm classified as a foundling as the authorities do not know who my biological mother was. About six years ago my daughter ran an ad in the Wauseon paper. The few responses we had didn't reveal anything we didn't already know. Unfortunately I don't live in Ohio or I would go to the high school and look at the year books for 1940, 1941, and 1942 to see if their was a girl missing in 1941, who was in the other two years. I also feel that since Wauseon is a small town my birth mother could have moved away. I was in hopes that maybe someone would be on the internet doing genealogy/adoption research and might have some information. I realize that because of my age, there is a chance I may never find out any information, but a friend of mine who does alot of research told me to try the Ohio page on the internet and go to the county I was born in. I hope you will be able to post my query, and I certainly appreciate any help anyone can give me, as living with the fact that you were rejected at birth is not an easy thing to do. My adoptive mother is 92 years old this year, and says that she knows nothing more about the adoption other than the facts I have stated. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might be able to help. Thanks, Sharon
