LOCAL NEWS
Grandma PERRIN was reported as being quite ill this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert MULFORD of Dayton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. S. CROYLE.
Bob ETCHIE of Fostoria came Saturday afternoon for a visit in the home of his grandmothers.
Alf SHOOP spent Sunday and Sunday night in the home of his sister and her husband in Bucyrus, Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh RENZ and daughters Barbara and Carolyn, now of Ft. Wayne, were here Saturday afternoon.
Cary WALLACE was at Defiance Monday in interest of his old age pension papers, with Dan GUILFORD, investigator.
Mrs. John READER of Ney and nephew Bob CHURCHMAN of Toledo were guests in the Elmer HANNA home Tuesday.
Miss Virginia SOHN was a Sunday guest of Miss Ruth BOEHM, in East Mark township.

Born, July 15th., a son, to Mr. and Mrs. Calvin CULLER.
MARK CENTER NEWS
Mrs. Ed SPINDLER, Mrs. Paul CONLEY and children, Thurlo, Robert, and Jeannette, spent Tuesday at the Claron CONLEY home, where they were threshing.
Friday evening the WALTERS trheshing ring met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred WALTERS, and all enjoyed ice cream and cake. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. John WALTERS, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley LILLY, daughter June, Mr. and Mrs. Claron CONLEY, Muriel and Alvin CONLEY, Mr. and Mrs. Claude MILES and son, Mr. and mrs. Ernest LONG, Ralph and Emerson LONG, Jake WORRICK, Mr. and Mrs. WELLER and children.
Hattie WAGNER received word Tuesday of the death of her brother, Theodore C. SEWELL of Portland, Ore. She has the sympathy of her many friends.
WASHINGTON NEWS
Highest wheat acreage per acre so far is 45 bushels per acre from three acres of C. E. DOUD, and 35 bushels per acre on seven acres. W. E. KOEPPE's yield was 34 bushels per acre.
Donald BAYLISS of near Sherwood, Virginia PENDLETON and Bernice TAYLOR spent the weekend at home from the Bowling Green State College.
A new girl has arrived at Floyd CHASE's and a new boy at Clarence STANTZ's.
Clem STRUSAKER and Dean DONZE repainted and made other improvements on the DEAN place, southwest of Ney.
