Hugh and Sarah(Hutchison) THOMPSON moved to Columbiana Co. about 1815 with their five children, John, Margaret, Flora, Joseph, and Hugh(jr). The elder Hugh walked to Stuebenville, Jefferson Co. to the Land Office to register his claim. They all became members of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, after it was organised in 1820.Sarah died in 1834 and Hugh(sr)in 1843. I would like to find any records of their lives in Columbiana Co.such as land and church records. I have the raw list of land Hugh bought over the years, but I would like to get actual copies of any original, handwritten records.

I am looking for information on my Grandmother, Gertrude MURPHY, born June 7, 1886 in Columbiana County Ohio. Her parents were Anthony Murphy and Mary Donahue (not sure on correct spelling). They were both born in Ireland. Gertrude Murphy married James HOLT, no date of marriage or where they were married. Gertrude died May 12, 1917 according to her death certificate of Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

John CONNER b.Oct 1830, in Columbiana Co. Methodist minister, married Francis BUSSELL, Nov27 1851. 9 or 10 children, my interest in his father, maybe from Ulster, N.Ireland. Also in his second son,James Leroy Conner b. Oct 13 1854 near Salineville,O. married Estella Rider on 24 Dec. 1878. J.L. Conner was married by his brother William Francis Conner also from Salineville,who was also a methodist minister.

Does anyone know of a family tree for Senator Marcus HANNA who was born in Columbiana County in 1837. I have heard stories that he was related for years and would love to be able to prove or disprove this. I have a line of HANNAs in my family tree from Bavaria.

I am seeking information on Mary FITCH or FITZPATRICK who married a CROSS and had the following children. John Cross born abt. 1823, James Cross born abt. 1827, and Lorena Cross born abt. 1829 or 1830. After the death of Mary's 1st husband, (? Cross), she married Aaron Copas and they were living in the Middleton Twp., area of Columbiana Co., OH. in 1840. By 1850, Aaron along with Mary and her Cross children had moved to Gallia Co., OH. Is there anyone out there who is researching the John Cross of Columbiana Co., OH. who married Mary Fitzpatrick in 1818? I noticed that there was an Andrew Cross who married a Susan Farmer in the same area. Was Andrew related to John Cross? I stongly believe that the Mary Fitzpatrick who married John Cross is my ggg-grandmother. Can anyone shed some light on this family?
