Looking for information regarding Eagle Mills on middle fork of Little Beaver Creek. I am a descendant of Abraham TEGARDEN b. 1718 d.1783. George Teegarden b.6-29-1744 d. 7-24-1815 William Teegarden b.8-23-1775 Pitt Gas, PA d. 4-12-1856 bur. Highland Church Cem. Uriah Teegarden b.7-10-1798 in Greene Co., PA m. 12-14-1826 to Faithful Richardson in Columbiana Co., OH, [b.6-12-1807 dau. of Samuel & Mary (Blackledge) Richardson] d.1-4-1880 buried Highland Church Cemetary, Salem Twp., Columbiana, OH The mill built by Levi Blackledge in 1804 which was disposed of in a deed dated 1842 by Barbara Blackledge and her son, Jesse, was purchased by Uriah and called the EAGLE MILL. The property consisted of 68 acres on the middle fork of Little Beaver Creek. Uriah, considered a "famous character" in early Salem Township history was both a farmer and a millwright. He worked hard to establish the village of Teegarden Station and became its first postmaster. When his grandaughter, Marea Neikirk, visited the site in 1950 she found only the stones of a foundation and some rotted sills of the back porch foundation. Some signs of the mill race were still to be seen and the old mill stones still lay on the property. The covered bridge across Beaver Creek at the site of the mill stood in 1966 and was an inspiration for local artists. Uriah gave the land for the Highland Church and burial ground and after his death in 1880 descendants placed his photograph in the back of a chair which was presented in his memory to the church.

My great great grandfather Henry PIPPITT lived and married two wives in Columbiana County - At the time of the 1850 census he was listed as Henry Peppel with wife Rebecca and two children Elizabeth and Daniel. A neighbor was George and Mary Shirts who married in 1847. The marriage record states Mrs. Mary Pippitt and George Shirts. Mary was born in 1780 so she was 67 at the time of her marriage to George. Was she a widow? Was she the mother of Henry? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Cannot find parents of Henry.
