Seeking information about Samuel Fowler, born about 1808 in Beaver County Pennsylvania, son of John Fowler and Jane McCormick. Moved to Belmont County Ohio when Jane married John Willis either in 1816 or 1823. Nothing else is known about him.

Nancy Fowler was born before 1810 in Beaver County Pennsylvania, daughter of John Fowler and Jane McCormick. Moved to Belmont County Ohio when Jane married John Willis. Believed to have married Joseph Gaston in 1830 in Belmont County, then Thomas Ambrose in 1838, also in Belmont County. Died in 1886 in Morristown, Belmont County, Ohio. Seeking verification of her husbands, date and location of death and any other information.

I am looking for information on George Anderson. His wife was Margaret Caldwell who is my ancester. I don't have a birth date for Margaret or George, but Margaret would have been born sometime around 1790-1805. I have found both of them in the 1830 and 1840 census for St. Clairsville. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know about their children and the Anderson family line. Thanks

William D or H Harris born January 12, 1872 Belmont Ohio. Parents listed as a John H Harris and Lucinda K. Maill or Maine. William eventually moved to Frederick Maryland and then to Delaware Ohio. Any info would be appreciated.

In searching Belmont County Deeds 1843 I came across this informtion in deed book 26 LDS film. This indenture 2nd day of May 1843 between Lambin P. Milligan and Sarah L. Milligan his wife of Cadiz, of the first part and Samuel Perkins of the county of Belmont of the second part witness that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of 2500 dollars to us paid by the said Samuel Perkins the receipt where of is hereby duly acknowledged that this day bargained and sold and by these present do bargain sell release resolve and quit claim unto the said Samuel Perkins his heirs and asigns forever all and singular the following described real estate situate in the county of Belmont and state of Ohio and more particulary described as follows to wit, The north west quarter of section number 5 range number 6 and township no 9 in the Steubenville district to wit in Kirkwood twp county and state aforesaid to have and hold the same free of all incumberances to him and his heirs forever in fee simple together with all and singular the improvements appurtenances and belonging to said Milligan and his heirs. The sight of fencing and keeping fenced the grave of his father Moses Milligan so as not to occupy more than one rod square and the said party of the first part of the first part do for themselves their heirs asigned become to warrant and forever defend the title to the said Perkins as against all lawful claims or documents in testimony where of we the party of the first part have unto set our hands and affixed our seals this day and year first above written. signed Lambdin P. Milligan and Sarah L. Milligan The above deed was signed and delivered in presence of Alexander E Shanen This deed provides the burial place of Moses Milligan of Belmont County Kirkwood twp.

Frank Griffin married Margaret Elizabeth Rutter in late 1880s (approx. date). They lived in Barnesville, Ohio, and had several offspring including my grandmother, Mariam Kerr Griffin, born 12-23-1898. She married Harry Edward Nuss and moved to Cameron, WV. John and Mary Rutter came to Barnesville from Sunderland, England, with several children. Mary died in childbirth in Ohio.

Need check of "Moore Family History" by Seawer your library." Where is Scotch Ridge? Where can I locate info on it? Have you found this "Moore Family History" that you mention? If not, how did you hear of it? I am considering a trip to Belmont Co. and would like to know as much about the resources available and the area as possible. It is said that my Moores were part of the Whiskey Rebellion in PA and relocated to OH where they started a distillery. Have you heard anything of this? I am descended from Michael Moore and Lucretia Matheny (or Matheney). My Moores relocated to Brown Co., IN during the Civil War. I am trying to locate a copy of the anniversary booklet for Lorain Coal and Dock. It contains information about the mining industry in Belmont Co, OH. I would be interested in copying part of it or acquiring a copy. The mine I am interested was owned by Johnson's Bros. My GrUncle, Frank Hora, was killed in the mine.

Am seeking any information for Martha JACKSON who married Daniel ADAMS in Belmont Co. on Oct 18, 1877. To my knowledge, Daniel went prospecting in the west and left Martha and their four children behind. He was never heard from again. I'm not sure if Martha remarried, but from all records left behind it would appear that she did not remarry.

Grooms in Belmont Co.: Looking for decsendents of Albert and Sadie Grooms. Children: Elizabeth (Lizzy), James (Jim), Twin Girls, Ethel and ?. Have a picture of the grave stone of Albert,1865-1953. GRIFFIN or GRIFFEN. Looking for family of Frank Griffin and Margaret Elizabeth RUTTER Griffin (or Griffen) who lived in Barnesville. Frank Griffin's middle name may have been Jesse. Margaret was one of several children of John and Mary Ann Rutter who immigrated from Sunderland, England, in 18870s(?) and Mary Ann Rutter died in Barnesville in childbirth. Margaret and Frank Griffin had several children in Barnesville, and later moved to Cameron WV. Any help most appreciated.

John Wright and his wife Frances Mason married in Belmont County, OH in 1817. Their children were born and some stayed while others moved on to Monroe County, OH. Looking for living children of thomas w. durbin/durban and edna blanche walters. They are from belmont county and buried in the bend fork cemetery in belmont county, ohio. I found thomas's death certificate and it states that he was born in jefferson county, ohio. Parents being: jacob durbin/durban and ida ann porter. Thomas and Edna have three deceased children who are also buried at the bend fork cemetery: clyde w. durban born 1916 died 1917, clyde w. durbin born 1918 died 1919, and hazel l.durbin died 2000. LeSeur Looking for the parents of George F. LeSeur. George was born in NY in 1834 and was located in Martins Ferry 1860's till his death in 1898.Married to a Rachel Jane Brown of Belmont County. My great-grandfather William Arthur LeSeur is their son. William was married twice. Once to a Charlotte Cody[not positive of this name]. Secondly to a Minnie Troll of Wheeling,WV.
