DURR posted by Stephen Calvert on Thursday, April 6, 2000

My grandfather, William Edward Durr, M.D., practiced medicine in Glencoe from 1920 until his death in 1947. In 1996 I came into possession of his physician's records of births, from which he prepared birth certificates. His records concerning foreign born parents list their exact birthplaces, which may not have been shown on the certificates. There are copies of these records in the OGS Library in Mansfield and in the Belmont Co. Gen. Soc. collection at the Barnesville public library. I would also be willing to do look ups.

BLAZER, HEADLEY, MCCRACKEN, NEWTON, ROBERTS, WILLIAMS posted by Jeri Lumpkin on Sunday, April 9, 2000

I am seeking information regarding the family of Henry and Rachel McCracken Roberts who were living in Belmont County in 1860. I know there were at least two sons James and Henry, Jr. I am most specifically interested in the family of James and Louisa Newton Roberts. They were living in Martin's Ferry in 1860 with two children, William and an infant daughter, Emma Anna Eliza who later married John Headley. My grandfather, John Wesley Roberts, born 9-10-1862, was their third child. James must have died during the 1860s and Louisa married a Blazer (no info. whatsoever on him) and then John Henry Williams. John Wesley Roberts married my grandmother in Union Parish, LA in Dec.1905, and was killed in a logging accident in Feb. 1906. My mother Claire Wesley Roberts was born 9-30-1906. I have the name Ora Roberts ____________ as a relative who apparantly was the neice of Emma, making her the child of either John Wesley or his brother William. I know that Ora _________ was living at 506 Dewey St. in Martin's Ferry in March of 1912. I do not have her married name. Can anyone help me? The Roberts family later lived in Columbiana Co. I would be very grateful if anyone has any information regarding the Roberts and particularly Ora. Please e-mail me if you do.
