My maternal great grandparents, Jacob and Alice (Rothwell) Chaney were originally from Belmont County, moved to Tuscarawas County. My grandmother, Ethel (Chaney) Fiester is buried at Longview Cemetary outside of New Athens. Trying to trace family tree. Also there was a Silas Hunter listed somewhere in Belmont County - not sure of source. My paternal grandfather was Silas J. Hunter who was born in Knox County, Ohio - parents were John & Mary Anna (Simpson) Hunter. My grandfather Hunter died in Tuscarawas County on Jan. 16, 1929. Looking for any family on Hunter side also. The Silas Hunter of Belmont County may have been my grandfather's uncle or whatever. Any related information would be greatly appreciated. I know absolutely nothing of the backgrounds of either side of my family except the above. I'm 70 years old and unfortunately just started to trace family trees for my children. Thank you so much.
