Samuel B. CROOK was born in Belmont Co., OH either 1816 or 1819 and died in Barnesville, Belmont Co., OH April 1880. Married Rebecca W. HENDERSON (born 1819) 23 Mar 1837 in Belmont Co., OH. Their children were Thomas Henderson, Sarah, Martha, Mary, and Charlotte. Need parents of Samuel and Rebecca and any info on daughters. Looking also for WIER (WEYER), AULT, MYERS, HAMPTON, LUKE, SWAGLER, IIAMS, WILSON, JARVIS.

I am researching GALLOWAY, CONDON, and WHITE all of whom lived in the Warren township of Belmont CO.. John Galloway 1804-1878 was my GGF, was 1st listed in the 1830 census and his place of birth is "unknown" ! John married Edna Condon who was born in MD. Their children were: Lydia,1832, John 1833, Phoeba 1834, Thomas 1837, Henry 1842, Wesley 1843(my grandfather), Benjaman 1844, Joseph 1846, Francis 1848, Jefferson 1850, and Isaac 1852. John and Edna are buried in the Gibson chapel cemetary NW of Barnesville on Co. road 114.

PEARSON/PIERSON: seeking information on the PEARSON?PIERSON families found on the 1820 Belmont CO, census. My gx2 gf, Samuel Pearson, born 14 Feb 1816, PA met his wife somewhere along the OHIO river. Her name was Sarah A. WHite, d/o John B and Susannah Pounds White. They left Beaver County PA between 1833 and 1838. Had a son William born in OH in 1838. Samuel married Sarah 11 Dec 1840 in Jackson County VA. Their first child was conceived late SEPT/OCT 1840 . He was born July 1841. So they must have been together prior to the actual marriage date. Anyone with Pearson information from Belmont County who might identify Samuel's father would be greatly appreciated. Been stuck on him for 3.75 years. Merry Anne

I am doing a research on CORNELIUS PATTERSON.He lived in Belmont Co,Ohio. The four children I know of are SPENCER PATTERSON, GRACE PATTERSON JACOBS,JAMES PATTERSON,EDWARD PATTERSON. Probably Catholic. Parents: Henry CLOSTERMAN/KLOSTERMAN and Mary Elizabeth MYERS. Mother died c1885 and father married a ZORN. Have no idea why she came to Belleair, OH, and if any other Myers or Closterman kin there at the time of her marriage or why they came there. Thanks for any information.

I am trying to find the origination of a William HAYWARD and a Mary COON. I don't have any parents for either of them. I don't have their marriage date but I do know they had at least one child; James Alexander Hayward who was born in Belmont County, Feb 18, 1826. There is a William Hayward listed in the 1840 Census listing Soundex H630, Hayward, William, Washington Twp, page 49. This maybe the same William Hayward I'm looking for!

Looking for any info on a Levi MoBLEY b. 1758 in Md. d. Belmont County or Monroe Co. Ohio. He was married to a Nancy Tucker. Lewis Mobley b.1785 in Md. d. April 1850 in Washington Twp, Belmont Co. Ohio,I believe was their son. Lewis was married to a Jemima Thompson March 12, 1807 in Washington County, Md. Also looking for info on a Benjamin Taylor. He married Mary Elizabeth Mobley, the daughter of Lewis and Jemima Mobley, June 14, 1842 in Belmont County. Also looking for a Robert E. Love who was the first husband of Adeline Swain around 1860, they had a daughter, Sara Jane Love b. May 13, 1861. Adeline married a second time to a John Cornelious Artis Sept. 23, 1865, Monroe Co. Ohio. This was also John's second marriage, his first wife being a Mollie or Martha Crow. They had two daughters Elizabeth and Hulda Jane Artis born around 1858 and 1859. John and Adeline's first child Henry William was born August 10, 1866 in Belmont Co. Ohio. Adeline had a brother Thomas E. Swain living in Franklin Twp. I am looking for information on the following marriages, all of which took place in Belmont County: Rebecca MAJOR and Leonard VINCENT on 9 January 1822 [Kirkwood Twp.]; Robert MAJOR and 1)Sarah VINCENT on 3 March 1823 [Kirkwood], 2) Eleanor SWANEY on 3 May 1835 [Union Twp.]; Margaret MAJOR and Caleb M. ROOD on 18 March 1824 [Kirkwood]; Isabell MAJOR and Samuel SPENCER on 1 January 1835 [Kirkwood]; Sarah Angeline MAJOR and George MURDOCK [Kirkwood]. All of the MAJOR's were children of Thomas and Margaret MAJOR of Kirkwood Twp. Sarah VINCENT evidently died before 1835. Samuel SPENCER died before 1850. Isabell was still in Belmont County in 1854; Robert and Eleanor were still there in 1860. All the others vanished from Belmont records following their marriages. Where did they go? Are there descendants from these lines? Does anyone know when these people died and where they are buried?
