Stephen descends from Harold Ridenour.
I have an old BAILEY photograph that I'd like
to share with the family. The people in the photo are: Clinton
Charles BAILEY, John S. BAILEY, Wilbert Grant BAILEY, Sarah
Isnogle BAILEY (the mom) and a young woman whom I believe to
be Clinton Charles's wife. Clinton Charles BAILEY married
Slyvia L. ADELBLUTE INGLEDUE. Slyvia had two sons, Charles A
and Chester A and a daughter Ruth Ellen. Clinton and Slyvia
are buried at Salem Cemetery in Westminster, OH. Per the 1910
census for Allen Co., Auglaize Twp., OH Clinton Charlres
BAILEY was married to Mary (?) and they had a son Myrle C.
born about 1898. C. Clinton BAILEY obit of Oct 6 1967 states
son, Charles is living in Harrod, step-daughter Ruth SWAUGER
is livilng at 1575 N. West, one stepson, Chester A. INGLEDUE
lives in Toledo. The mysterious woman in the family photo is
either Clinton Charles BAILEY's first wife, Mary or his 2nd
wife Sylvia. Would like anyone related to this family to
contact me and help solve the mystery. Wilbert BAILEY is my

believed that this is a
photo (left to right) of: Margaret Peacock and her
husband Auley Mccauley Hulings ( who moved to Mankato, KS) , next to the Mary
France Peacock and her husband Samuel Rockhill and last Maribah Spriner Peacock
and her husband George N. Riley. It was supposed to be take in the Cincinnati,
Ohio area. The age of the photo has to be about 1865 as that is when Samuel
died, George Riley and Samuel Rockhill and their families were early settlers

. . . The young girl on the swing
with the bow in her hair- in front (left) is Esther Elizabeth Curtiss DOB:
2/28/1908. The girl on the far right on the teeter-totter is Esther's
sister - Evelyn Curtiss DOB: 8/1/1904. They lived at 933 N. McDonel,
Lima, OH with their grandmother (Lydia Reeves) most of their childhood. Their
Mother died when Esther was 2 years old . . . 1910-11. Her name was Dorothy
"Dot" Reeves-Curtiss. The other two girls in the photo are not identified.

the right is Luella (Lipsett) Curtiss (dark dress with lace collar). DOB:
Apx. 1858 DOD: 6/10/1934; Her husband was Dr. Charles L. Curtiss DOB:
6/21/1840 DOD: 3/3/1895
They had three sons:
Dwight E. Curtiss - Esther & Evelyn's Father born 10/18/1881
Dr. Edgar J. Curtiss born May 24, 1884
Charles Laws "Pete" Curtiss born Dec 21, 1889
Dr. Charles L. Curtiss was the only son of Dr. Elijah & Flora (Hanchett) Curtiss.
They had one daughter Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Curtiss that never married
and died at the age of 92 yrs old, in December 1941. She was a school
teacher most of her life in Lima, OH.

Samuel Sherrick,
b. Dec 23, 1815, d. Oct 07, 1895 and his wife Barbara Stemen
Sherrick, b. Apr 13, 1814, d. May 06, 1903
They were residents of Marion Township.
Historical note: Henry Stemen (1775-1855), an early pioneer in Fairfield County,
had been ordained a Mennonite minister in 1809 and bishop in 1820. Daughter
Barbara Stemen and her husband Samuel Sherrick as well as daughter Magdalena and
her husband Henry Sherrick accompanied the bishop's family to Allen County, Ohio. Also at the
same time came Deacon John Sherrick (1778-1857) with his wife Mary.
Horace Mann Elementary School
was photographed in April 2003 by Zoe Nawrocik. She was advised by people
in the neighborhood that the school is scheduled for demolition.
