Project Updates:

• The St. Jean’s Cemetery book has been transcribed and Bill McGrath is combining the data. It should be ready to go online next month.

• St. Peter’s Cemetery book for the period 1909 – 2002 has been scanned and the transcribing will be started soon. We will check to try to locate the previous records.

• Since TIGS sponsored the St. Agnes Cemetery 150th reunion, TIGS received a copy of Kelly Grimaldi’s book with beautiful pictures of the cemetery

• The new web site – hopefully there will be something to show by next month. We need to resolve some issues before we add more data.

Upcoming Events:

• Geneology look-up day at North Greenbush Library was September 20, 2017 – Donna Vaughn said 14 were signed up and 11 people showed. They found something for everyone. The library wants us to do it again. A gatekeeper is needed to be sure the time allotted to each person does not run over. The East Greenbush Library Lookup Day will be Saturday, Oct. 21, 1-3 pm

• There may be one more look-up day in November, and it may be at Lansingburg, Waterford, or Downtown Troy

• Christine Connell reported there was no response from O’Brien’s regarding TIGS having a table at the Troy Irish Festival this coming Saturday. At the end of meeting Terry O’Brien stopped by the table and said they still need volunteers, and said people could just show up to help.

New Business:

• The dues as due for Heritage Hunters – we get their newsletters as a member

Other:

• Jean Gorman was a guest visiting from Minneapolis. She is here doing genealogy research and looking for information on her father’s father Frank Gorman who was from Cohoes, and his wife who was a Cooney from Troy. Related to Kris, perhaps??

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made, seconded and passed.
The next meeting will be August 17, 2017 at O'Brien's.

Respectfully submitted,
Gail Landrigan, Secretary
