Members Present: Donna Vaughn, Timothy Stone, Gail Landrigan, Kristin Ayotte, Kathy Buckley, Bill McGrath, , Heidi Klinowski, Chris Connell, Chris Philippo, Gerri Sherry, Kathy Fomuk, Jim Plunkett, Mary Beth Brown, Mimi Nicotina, Eileen Shea, Mike Gilligan, Katie Gilligan

President Gerri Sherri called the meeting to order.

In the absence of Treasurer, Lizette Strait, Gerri submitted the Treasurer’s report sent to her by Lizette Strain that read as follows:
The Previous Balance as of April 20, 2015: $4171.96
Recent expenses: Ck #1038 $100.00 to Friends of Oakwood (Restoration of burial books), Ck#1039 VOID, Ck#1040 $32.39 to Donna Vaughn (TIGS Business Cards), Ck#1041 $200.00 to Christ Church United Methodist (Birth & Marriage Records on CDs).
Deposits: $55.00 (5/13/15) and $10.00 (5/18/15)
Balance: May 18, 2015 = $4258.59
Paid Members 2015 = 72

TIGS currently has 296 List Members and 656 Facebook Likes.

Membership Chair Report: Donna Vaughn reports that she has gotten increase in emails since her name was added to the front page of website.

Project Updates from Bill McGrath:

St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford: 15,000 names on 98 files, pending receipt of the last 3 files. The names are mostly French from the late 1800’s up till the early 2000’s. Civil War – Spanish American War Vets: Lists of burials and erection of headstones. File contains various date and may include date of death, date of burial, age, amount paid, to whom paid, unit name and cemetery.

Obituary Notices In Troy Newspapers – 1797 – 1860 Book loaned by Troy Public Library iis scanned, 5 different newspapers. The Library will then loan 2 volumes of marriage records to be scanned.

Troy Methodist Church Records – most of the Troy Christ Church United Methodist records have been copied onto a thumb drive for transcriptions. Old West Troy Methodist Records – are being worked on from 1850’s contain 730 baptisms and 586 marriages.

New Business:

New officers will be seated in the June 2015 meeting; Christine Connell, President, Kristin Ayotte, Vice President, Joan Durso, Secretary. Continuing in their positions: Lizette Strait, Treasurer, Jeanne Keefe, Webmaster, Kathy Buckley, List Manager, Bill McGrath, Project Manager and Donna Vaughn, Member Chair.

A vote was taken and decision reached to accept and carry on with the Mt. Ida Cemetery Clean-up Grant. Chris Philippo will be working with Christine Connell to implement work.

Vote taken resulting in decision to revise or establish TIGS checking account with 3 authorized signers (President, Vice President and Treasurer). The signers should be reviewed in conjunction with annual elections if position holders change.

EIN (versus SSN) was discussed in detail and a vote was taken resulting in the decision to obtain an EIN number. Purposes include checking account, PO Box and future grant opportunities. Also an EIN will eliminate the use of any TIGS member’s social security number. Christine Connell will complete the paperwork and submit.

Vote taken resulting in decision to obtain PO Box for TIGS. Chris Connell will implement.

Group agreed that the TIGS Charter is in need of review to evaluate purposes and objectives of TIGS as we grow and move forward.
Irish Acts of Kindness Page being reviewed for update. Kris Ayotte received confirmation of all current information with little change. Several additions to be made.

Website update pending.

April 2016 Ireland trip was discussed, further details to follow.

Next meeting June 21, 2015. Kris Ayotte will contact The Town Tavern in Averill Park for availability. If not available Moscatiello’s will be arranged.
