5. Future Projects suggested and discussed: Chris Connell suggested an index of some of the scanned newspapers at the Troy Library, and putting the index on our website. This will be discussed with Jeanne Keefe, webmaster. Chris also suggested putting on the website a list of the local churches, dates open/closed, ethnic groups of their memberships, and where the church records are located (also to be discussed with Jeanne Keefe).

6. Chris Connell suggested a genealogy day at the Waterford Library in the Fall; more will be reported at a future meeting.

Ongoing Business:
1. Ireland trip (Kris) April 17 is the departure date, 27 people are going.

2. Genealogy Grant: Donna Vaughn presented info on the Seton Shields Grant (by Megan Smolenyak, author and genealogist). The awards range from $200 to $1,000, and the grant is ongoing at this time. Our group will keep this in mind regarding future appropriate projects that we could apply for the grant to help with the expense. Donna has the paperwork and other info, and encouraged members to learn more by going to honoringourancestors.com and click on Grants.

1. Finish format of data for Book 2 and 3 of Styles Funeral Home.

2. St. John’s Cemetery can be sent to transcribers once the files are received from the Webmaster.

Genealogy Table: Heritage Hunters Newsletters were shared with the group (Donna Vaughn).
