OLD BUSINESS

Kris Ayotte discussed the proposed trip to Ireland.   It will probably occur in mid-April 2008.   She is still working out details of the trip.

The resource list was discussed.  Bill McGrath will send information about the availability of lookups to the Albany list.

Donna has received several positive comments about the last edition of the TIGS newsletter.   A sample of the newsletter will be placed on the TIGS table at the Irishfest in September.

Kris Ayotte has submitted a grant application in the amount of $2000 to enable TIGS to purchase a large scanner and a laptop computer for copying records.   She is waiting to hear back from the sponsor of the grant.

Kris White has completed a listing of former Exalted Rulers of the Troy Elks Club; there are only two years that are missing.   Her next project will be to compile a list of deceased Elks.

The idea of having another antique appraisal event was discussed.   The consensus was that Fall is better time for this type of event; members were asked to think about different locations where it might be held.

The annual Irishfest at the Altamont Fairgrounds is scheduled for September 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.   TIGS was offered a table free of charge and volunteers are needed to man the booth and to set up and take it down.   Several members at the meeting volunteered to help.   It was decided to print 200 new brochures for distribution at the Irishfest.

NEW BUSINESS

There was no new business.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Cathy McGrath and seconded by Kris Ayotte to adjourn the meeting.   The motion was approved and the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.   The next meeting will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 6:30 PM at MJ’s on the Avenue.  There were several items placed on the genealogy table for those who were interested.

Respectfully submitted,

Kathleen Brearton, Secretary
