3. Project Updates
Death records were extracted from the 1905 Troy Directory.
The Directories for 1901 – 1904 are now on line. These records
include dates of death and occupations.
Marriage notices found in Lansingburgh Newspapers
from 1787- 1895 include 10,000 names and lists the residences of
the bride and groom. This is important because New York State Law
did not require marriage records until 1880. It is a wonderful resource
for the TIGS website. Currently the information is only available
at the Troy Public Library. Deaths from 1787 – 1895 consists
of 436 pages and over 10,400 names all transcribed. (Bill McGrath
offered a special thank you to Tom and Karen Martin, new transcribers
who were present at this evening’s meeting.)
David Marsh, President of the Lansingburgh Historical
Society offered TIGS the spreadsheet of burials for the Lansingburgh
Village Burial Ground located at 3rd Avenue and 5th Street.
The interment book for the former St. John’s
Cemetery was returned to St. Agnes Cemetery’s historian.

with Mark Bodnar on Sunday, October 5 from 1 – 3 PM.
